Everything plays
The filename classifier knows quality, versions, multi-part releases and disc folders. mpv does the rest.
The media player for Windows & Linux
Fenaki turns your folders into a gorgeous library: posters, cast, subtitles, trailers, skip buttons. It plays everything. You just press play.
For everyone who wished Infuse ran on Windows or Linux.
Every container and codec your library throws at it. Plex and Infuse set the bar for beautiful libraries; Fenaki brings that bar to Windows and Linux.
Point it at a folder and watch the pipeline run: scan your files, extract the basics, then dress each title with covers, trailers and scores. Open one for the full picture, and press play.
Big Buck Bunny

A gentle giant rabbit finds his peaceful day ruined when three bullying rodents torment the forest, so he sets aside his kind nature and plans an elaborate revenge.
Directed by Sacha Goedegebure
An illustrated six-beat tour of the Fenaki library: a blueprint wireframe scanned for files; titles and file facts etched onto the glass; poster covers with scores and trailers; an expanded metadata card for the featured film, listing title, year, duration, producer, IMDb and TMDb ratings, genres, overview, director, quality grade, resolution, audio and codec; then playback; then a coming-soon terminal where the CLI scans, recommends, connects to an MCP server and opens the player.
The filename classifier knows quality, versions, multi-part releases and disc folders. mpv does the rest.
A dark poster grid, light and dark themes that follow your OS, and Netflix-style detail heroes.
Movies, shows, collections, franchise bundling, favourites and your own custom lists.
Search and download from OpenSubtitles, cached per title, with your language preference remembered.
Skip Intro, Recap and Credits, with optional auto-skip and auto-play-next.
Local folders, SMB shares, Jellyfin, Dropbox and Google Drive, with OneDrive, Emby, Plex, network protocols and more on the roadmap.
Settings, watch state and lists sync through a folder you choose: Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive, a NAS. Never a mandatory cloud. Full profile sync is in progress.
CLI, headless daemon, MCP server. Power tools for power users.
1833. A disc of painted frames spins behind a slotted mirror, and the eye is deceived into seeing motion.
In 1833 the Belgian physicist Joseph Plateau built the phenakistoscope (feh-nuh-KISS-tuh-skohp): a disc painted with sequential frames, pierced with slits, spun before a mirror. Look through the slits at the reflection and still pictures move.
It was the first machine to trick the eye into seeing motion. Its name means deceptive view in Greek, and it is the ancestor of film, cartoons, and GIFs.
Every film since has been a beautiful deception. Fenaki plays them all.
